The indictment is the result of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis\u2019 two-year investigation into the former president\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n<p>Willis, a member of the 2023 50 Over 50 list, became the first woman to serve as Fulton County\u2019s DA in 2021. She was thrust into the national spotlight just one month into her new role, when she announced the investigation into the former president. She has significant experience issuing racketeering charges in Georgia, and on Monday night, she invoked this experience while refuting claims that her investigation was politically motivated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI make decisions in this office based on the facts and the law. The law is completely nonpartisan,\u201d Willis said. \u201cThis office has indicted since I&#8217;ve been sitting as a district attorney over 12,000 cases. This is the 11th RICO indictment. We followed the same process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It will be up to the court to determine when this case goes to trial, but Willis said Monday her office wants the case to go to trial within the next six months. If so, you\u2019re not alone: A new study found a whopping 91% of female Linkedin users say they have received romantic advances or sexually inappropriate messages at least once. Almost a quarter said the messages showed up in their account daily or every other day.<\/p>\n<p>A federal appeals court on Wednesday ruled to restrict women\u2019s access to the<strong> abortion pill mifepristone<\/strong>, partially upholding a lower court decision that imposed restrictions on the commonly used pill and setting up a potential high-stakes ruling by the <strong>Supreme Court,<\/strong> though the pill will remain on the market for now.<\/p>\n<p>The right-leaning <strong>American Alliance for Equal Rights<\/strong> recently filed a lawsuit against <strong>Fearless Fund<\/strong>, an early-stage venture capital firm that focuses on funding women founders of color, accusing them of racial discrimination in their grant program for Black female founders.<\/p>\n<p>Former world no. 1 <strong>Caroline Wozniacki\u2019s comeback<\/strong> to tennis after more than three years ended prematurely when she was beaten 6-2, 7-5 by reigning <strong>Wimbledon<\/strong> champion <strong>Marketa Vondrousova<\/strong> in the second round of the Canadian Open.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Moira Forbes<\/strong> spoke to <strong>CNN<\/strong> earlier this week about a frustrating dichotomy we\u2019re seeing: Women\u2019s spending power is growing\u2014as evidenced by the billions of dollars we\u2019re spending on <strong>Barbie<\/strong>, <strong>Taylor Swift<\/strong>, and female-focused products and services\u2014yet that power has been slow to translate to progress in leadership representation.<\/p>\n<p><fbs-ad position=\"topx\" progressive=\"\" ad-id=\"article-0-topx-1\"><\/fbs-ad><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"subhead-embed color-accent bg-base font-accent font-size text-align\"><\/h2>\n<h2 class=\"subhead-embed color-accent bg-base font-accent font-size text-align\">The Checklist<\/h2>\n<p><strong>1.
