Instead, the company pushed search ads within its own app store.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"style__ArticleBlock-sc-71527cc7-4 gKiJng\">\n<ul>\n<li>The company \u201ccould make the case for the biggest Cannes presence with the lowest visibility,\u201d Ad Age writers opined.<\/li>\n<li>Apple executives \u201copted to observe from the sidelines,\u201d Digiday reported.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"style__ArticleBlock-sc-71527cc7-4 gKiJng\">\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-5a46198a-12 ggMJgB\">Looks like advertisers will have to keep waiting if they\u2019re ever going to see that demand-side platform or that sweet, sweet Apple TV+ inventory.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"style__ArticleBlock-sc-71527cc7-4 gKiJng\">\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-5a46198a-12 ggMJgB\"><strong>Big stage, small headlines:<\/strong> Instead of speed-dating the adtech ecosystem like it did last year, Netflix took a more formal approach to Cannes this time around\u2014taking over the JW Marriott and hosting buyers and brands to talk about its ad-supported tier. The pitch came about a month after the company\u2019s first-ever upfront presentation, which was held virtually due to the ongoing writers\u2019 strike. Despite the platform\u2019s big presence at Cannes, there wasn\u2019t a lot of Netflix news. Jeremi Gorman, Netflix\u2019s president of worldwide advertising, posted on LinkedIn that the platform met with \u201chundreds of our amazing clients and agencies,\u201d before bumping the average age of subscribers to its ad tier from 34, as announced last month, to 37. But who\u2019s counting?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"style__ArticleBlock-sc-71527cc7-4 gKiJng\">\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-5a46198a-12 ggMJgB\"><strong>More is more:<\/strong> Netflix and Apple\u2019s muted approach stands in stark contrast to some other streamers in attendance.
