{"id":22252,"date":"2025-05-10T14:17:48","date_gmt":"2025-05-10T14:17:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mysourcefunding.com\/?p=22252"},"modified":"2025-05-10T14:17:48","modified_gmt":"2025-05-10T14:17:48","slug":"youtube-puts-the-spotlight-on-creators-at-this-years-newfronts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mysourcefunding.com\/?p=22252","title":{"rendered":"YouTube puts the spotlight on creators at this year\u2019s NewFronts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-d254fb16-8 jrWebZ\">YouTube, which is expected to surpass Disney to become the biggest media company in the world by revenue this year, wasted no time at its NewFront event on Thursday reminding everyone that, per Nielsen, it\u2019s currently the No. 1 streaming platform in the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-d254fb16-8 jrWebZ\">\u201cAudiences are watching on every screen, from their living rooms to their phones and across every video format,\u201d Anne Marie Nelson-Bogle, VP of YouTube ads marketing, said onstage. \u201cThat unrivaled breadth spanning everything from long-story blogs to podcasts to short form makes YouTube indispensable to people\u2019s lives today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-d254fb16-8 jrWebZ\">Throughout the presentation, which marked Google\u2019s second mainstage pitch to advertisers in a week\u2019s time, YouTube executives took a page from TikTok\u2019s and Meta\u2019s NewFronts playbooks and similarly pitched the platform as the arbiter of culture.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-d254fb16-8 jrWebZ\">\u201cYouTube is where audiences come together, not just to swap flaming memes, but to participate in culture,\u201d Nelson-Bogle said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-d254fb16-8 jrWebZ\"><strong>All eyes on creators:<\/strong> Much of YouTube\u2019s presentation was focused on the creators who help drive the platform\u2019s cultural relevancy and utilize its many content formats. Lifestyle creator Ashley Alexander, Julian Shapiro-Barnum of the social series <em>Recess Therapy<\/em>, and Alisha Marie and Remi Cruz, who host the podcast <em>Pretty Basic<\/em>, were among those brought onstage to talk about how they balance long-form videos, Shorts, and livestreaming on the platform, as well as share case studies from brand partnerships.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-d254fb16-8 jrWebZ\">The announcements made at YouTube\u2019s NewFront also centered on YouTube Creators, with the following tools and updates added:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A creator partnerships hub with \u201cimproved\u201d sponsored video and creator search capabilities for brands, as well as paid and organic reporting for linked videos<\/li>\n<li>New APIs that will provide insights into creator analytics<\/li>\n<li>A new Insights Finder report that will return information about creators and their fans<\/li>\n<li>Partnership ads in Display &amp; Video 360<\/li>\n<li>Takeover lead-ins, which feature a personalized message from creators at the start of videos<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"style__InlineSubscribeWrapper-sc-14f00b84-1 jysDZg inline-subscribe\">\n<div id=\"inline-subscribe\" class=\"style__RoundedContainer-sc-bac6188c-0 jnRTsW\">\n<h5 class=\"inline-subscribe\">Get marketing news you&#8217;ll actually want to read<\/h5>\n<p class=\"inline-subscribe\">Marketing Brew informs marketing pros of the latest on brand strategy, social media, and ad tech via our weekday newsletter, virtual events, marketing conferences, and digital guides.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-d254fb16-8 jrWebZ\">\u201cYouTube has breadth and depth across every screen and every format,\u201d Kristen O\u2019Hara, VP of agency platforms and client solutions at Google and YouTube, said in her closing remarks. \u201cIt is the place people go to for information and inspiration, with fans who go so deep on the content they love from creators they really trust.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-d254fb16-8 jrWebZ\"><strong>All quiet on the AI front? <\/strong>While it didn\u2019t come up at the event, YouTube told advertisers in a NewFronts blog post that its AI-powered campaigns allow advertisers to \u201cget more from [their] social strategy on YouTube.\u201d On Monday, YouTube\u2019s parent company, Google, touted its AI offerings, including some new generative AI features coming to its Display &amp; Video 360 platform.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-d254fb16-8 jrWebZ\"><strong>BRB:<\/strong> YouTube will host its annual Brandcast event during next week\u2019s Upfronts, with the platform\u2019s top execs present alongside even more creators, including MrBeast and Brittany Broski. Given YouTube\u2019s dominance in the streaming sector, don\u2019t be surprised if other streamers look to position themselves against the platform and put their own creator- and digital-ad-related
