{"id":22071,"date":"2025-03-19T12:57:47","date_gmt":"2025-03-19T12:57:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mysourcefunding.com\/?p=22071"},"modified":"2025-03-19T12:57:47","modified_gmt":"2025-03-19T12:57:47","slug":"youtube-wants-to-make-it-easier-for-creators-to-work-with-brands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mysourcefunding.com\/?p=22071","title":{"rendered":"YouTube wants to make it easier for creators to work with brands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-53b02a2b-8 hBxKva\">Ahead of YouTube\u2019s annual Brandcast upfronts event later this spring, the video giant is touting new ways for creators to connect more directly with brands.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-53b02a2b-8 hBxKva\">Through a new feature called \u201ccreator-initiated video linking,\u201d creators in YouTube\u2019s partner program can now send requests to brands to partner on sponsored content videos they\u2019ve made in an effort to streamline partnerships ads. Brands working with multiple creators can also use a video-linking API to streamline partnerships, a feature that was released widely late last year but is just now being publicized, according to Erica Walsh, a YouTube spokesperson.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-53b02a2b-8 hBxKva\">If a brand accepts a linking request, YouTube will add a \u201cPaid Promotion\u201d sticker to the content and the brand will be able to access the video\u2019s \u201corganic view metrics,\u201d show ads to those who view and interact with the creator\u2019s channel, and gain insight into how viewers interact with the creator\u2019s channel after viewing an ad from the brand.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-53b02a2b-8 hBxKva\">The new tool is part of YouTube\u2019s larger strategy to capitalize on the creator economy, Melissa Hsieh Nikolic, director of product management for YouTube Ads, told Marketing Brew.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-53b02a2b-8 hBxKva\">\u201cCreators are the new Hollywood,\u201d she said, echoing a comment from YouTube CEO Neal Mohan at last year\u2019s Brandcast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-53b02a2b-8 hBxKva\"><strong>Do it for the views:<\/strong> YouTube tested the creator-initiated video linking feature with a smaller batch of creators through 2024, according to Walsh. It builds on YouTube\u2019s BrandConnect platform, which is designed to pair brands and creators and which first rolled out in 2020.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-53b02a2b-8 hBxKva\">A whopping 96% of US Gen Zers surveyed watch both short-form and long-form videos on YouTube, according to a joint study from YouTube and eMarketer released last week.
