{"id":21871,"date":"2025-01-10T05:02:36","date_gmt":"2025-01-10T05:02:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mysourcefunding.com\/?p=21871"},"modified":"2025-01-10T05:02:37","modified_gmt":"2025-01-10T05:02:37","slug":"yahoo-pitches-curation-and-partnerships-at-ces","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mysourcefunding.com\/?p=21871","title":{"rendered":"Yahoo pitches curation and partnerships at CES"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"style__InlineSubscribeWrapper-sc-b0c0fc32-1 CuWWT inline-subscribe\">\n<div class=\"style__Container-sc-6fdcc87e-0 style__RoundedContainer-sc-fdc976c-0 iTWzCH dtoEFc\">\n<h5 class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-b82cc9e3-12 bCHGiF inline-subscribe\">Get marketing news you&#8217;ll actually want to read<\/h5>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-b82cc9e3-12 cPcVuV inline-subscribe\">Marketing Brew informs marketing pros of the latest on brand strategy, social media, and ad tech via our weekday newsletter, virtual events, marketing conferences, and digital guides.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-b82cc9e3-12 haIxsR\">Yahoo is jumping on the curation bandwagon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-b82cc9e3-12 haIxsR\">The digital media company will work with a host of partners to offer more white-glove advertising services in an effort to help advertisers reach their intended audiences and avoid some of the pitfalls of programmatic advertising, it announced at CES this week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-b82cc9e3-12 haIxsR\"><strong>So what? <\/strong>After several years of bad press about \u201cmade for advertising\u201d inventory and wasted budgets, curation has become the buzzword du jour in the ad-tech world, as seemingly every ad-tech company seeks to sever its connection with the open web (aka where all those ads end up).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Last year, The Trade Desk introduced a product called SP500+, which it describes as a hand-selected list of 500 publishers including the New York Times.<\/li>\n<li>Supply-side platforms like Xandr and Index Exchange have also pitched their own curated lists.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-b82cc9e3-12 haIxsR\">In 2023, Yahoo\u2019s demand-side platform rolled out Yahoo Backstage, an offering that promises \u201cdirect access\u201d to publishers like News Corp and ESPN.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-b82cc9e3-12 haIxsR\">This week, Yahoo said it would build on those efforts, announcing partnerships with ad-tech analytics company Jounce, contextual advertising company Peer39, and ad-tech emissions tracker Scope3, all with the intention of helping its advertisers avoid the junk of the internet. Advertisers can, if they wish, lean on these partners to weed out programmatic resellers offering lower quality and \u201cmade for advertising\u201d inventory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-b82cc9e3-12 haIxsR\">\u201cThis empowers the buyer to decide what inventory they want, and they\u2019re in control of creating their own packages,\u201d Adam Roodman, GM of Yahoo\u2019s DSP, told Marketing Brew.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-b82cc9e3-12 haIxsR\"><strong>The streaming wars:<\/strong> The company also announced a partnership with Roku that will offer its advertisers direct biddable access to Roku\u2019s inventory without going through a supply-side company.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-b82cc9e3-12 haIxsR\">As part of the partnership, Roodman said that Roku will adopt Yahoo\u2019s identity graph, ConnectID, which Roodman said is a differentiator compared to larger players like The Trade Desk and Google.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__StyledText-sc-b82cc9e3-12 haIxsR\">According to the analytics firm Sincera, Yahoo\u2019s ID graph is in second place behind Google\u2019s in terms of programmatic transactions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Read the full article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketingbrew.com\/stories\/2025\/01\/09\/yahoo-pitches-curation-and-partnerships-at-ces?utm_source=&#038;utm_medium=syndication&#038;utm_campaign=feed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" rel=\"nofollow\">here<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Get marketing news you&#8217;ll actually want to read Marketing Brew informs marketing pros of the latest on brand strategy, social media, and ad tech via our weekday newsletter, virtual events, marketing conferences, and digital guides.
